Latest on opening Harlow’s paddling pools

Published date

We hope to open the town’s paddling pools at Bush Fair, Norman Booth, Sumners and Town Park later this week.

We are sorry that we haven’t been able to fill them up from today (Monday 18 July) as planned. This is because of the current high demand for water caused by the extreme temperatures and Affinity Water is urging everyone to avoid all non-essential water use. We hope to start filling them up from Wednesday (20 July 2022). However, this situation will be kept under review and will depend on the water demand situation. If we can fill them up from Wednesday, we hope that they will be ready to use from Friday 22 July 2022.

Potter Street Splash Park is currently closed due to vandalism to the surface. We are arranging for repairs to be made.

Staple Tye paddling pool is being transformed into a mix of splash park and paddling pool. Unfortunately, this work has been delayed due to theft, damage and vandalism at the site and ongoing supply issues. Our contractors continue to work on site to make the new facility ready as quickly as possible.

It is estimated that the new park will open on 13 August 2022. We are sorry that the opening will be delayed. This is due to factors outside of our control and it is hugely frustrating for all that it won’t be ready to open for the start of the summer holidays. We will continue to keep residents updated.

Regular updates on the paddling pools and splash parks can be found on our paddling pool page
