New cultural grants launched with £75,000 investment

Harlow Council, with support from Arts Council England, has launched the Harlow Cultural Enabler Grants, an investment pot totalling £75,000 designed to empower local creatives and strengthen arts and culture across the town.

Harlow has long been a place where creativity is valued and woven into the fabric of community life. By 2028, the ambition is for Harlow to be recognised as a town where extraordinary art is everywhere - created with and for everyone - positioning it as a cultural capital of the East of England.

This vision champions a town that is modern, inclusive, and forward thinking: a place where innovation meets tradition, where every voice is heard, and where creativity inspires connection, pride, and progress.

The Harlow Cultural Enabler Grants offer local creatives the opportunity to access funding that will help them develop their artistic ideas, support high quality cultural delivery in Harlow, or grow their own creative practice.

To ensure the programme supports as many applicants as possible, the funding is split across two strands:

  • Microgrants – £500 to £7,000
  • Enabler Grants – £7,000 to £25,000

Announcing the new grants, Councillor Danielle Brown, Cabinet Member for Culture and Community, said:

“Harlow has an extraordinary creative spirit - one that has shaped our past and will define our future. These grants are not just about funding projects; they’re about believing in our local artists, giving them space to thrive, and celebrating the imagination that makes this town so special. I’m incredibly proud that we can offer real support to the talented individuals who bring colour, energy, and identity to Harlow. Their ideas are the heartbeat of our community, and I can’t wait to see what they create. Together, we’re building a town where creativity is everywhere as we Build Harlow’s Future.”
