Fresh from the incredible return of the Harlow Town Show, Harlow Council is bringing thousands of residents together again for another spectacular free event – this time for something completely different.
On Saturday 19 September, the world-renowned Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra will take to Harlow’s brand-new Town Park Bandstand for Harlow Proms in the Park – a completely free Last Night of the Proms-style extravaganza.
Just weeks after tens of thousands of people filled the Town Park for the first Harlow Town Show in 40 years, Harlow Council is continuing a new era of major events for the town.
The Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra will perform alongside Harlow Chorus, with Harlow Brass Band, Livewire Vocal Collective and Classic Latino also taking to the stage.
The night will build to an unforgettable finale as thousands sing together to Jerusalem, Land of Hope and Glory and Rule, Britannia!, before spectacular fireworks light up the Town Park.
There will also be local food and drink vendors throughout the evening. Significant additional blue badge parking is being made available to support disabled residents to enjoy the event too.
Gates open at 4pm, with performances from 5pm. Best of all, there are no tickets and no booking – residents can simply turn up for free. The Bandstand area will be first come, first served and, once full, the Showground will open with huge screens broadcasting the concert live, allowing thousands more people to be part of the night.
The event is being provided by Harlow Council as part of its commitment to bring major events and experiences back to the town. The council says its stronger financial position, increased income and investment mean residents can share in the benefits of its success – while council tax remains frozen.

“The return of the Town Show was an incredible moment for Harlow. Tens of thousands of us came together and, everywhere you looked, Harlow was smiling.
“But that was just the beginning.
“Now we’re doing something completely different. A world-renowned orchestra on our brand-new Bandstand, brilliant Harlow talent, thousands singing together and fireworks lighting up the Town Park. This is going to be a truly special night.
“This is exactly why we rebuilt the Bandstand and why Harlow Council is bringing major events back to our town – to create incredible experiences and memories for Harlow people.
“And we can do it because we have transformed the council’s finances, grown our income and invested wisely. Harlow residents are the shareholders in their council and, when their council succeeds, they should feel the benefit.
