Hackney carriage and private hire licensing general enforcement policy
Harlow Council has a responsibility to protect the community it serves, using the legislative powers delegated by government.
The ultimate priority of the council is to ensure that drivers, operators and vehicle proprietors licensed by the council carry out their trade in accordance with both the
relevant law and the conditions attached to the licences.
Any enforcement action taken in accordance with this policy will be based on upon the seriousness of the breach and the possible consequences arising out of it.
Licensing general enforcement policy

Appropriate policy statement for special categories of personal data
This is the appropriate policy document for Harlow District Council that sets out how we will protect special category and criminal convictions personal data.
It meets the requirement at Part 1 Paragraph 1 of Schedule 1 to the Data Protection Act 2018 that an appropriate policy document be in place where the processing of special category personal data is necessary for the purposes of performing or exercising obligations or rights which are imposed or conferred by law on the controller or the data subject in connection with employment, social security or social protection.
