Your House in Multiple Occupation (HMO) licence is valid for one year.
You will need to renew it at least one month before it expires.
We will email you a reminder to let you know when it is time to renew your licence.
To renew your licence you need to:
- complete the HMO licence renewal application form (pdf)
- pay the correct fee
If we ask you for it, you will also need to provide a:
- gas safety certificate less than 12 months old (if there is a gas supply)
- domestic periodic inspection report for the electrical system that is less than 5 years old
- fire alarm test certificate that is less than 5 years old (where appropriate)
Once we receive your application, we will email you a copy of your renewed licence.
Fees
Mandatory licence: £287 (reduced £212)
You will be eligible for a reduced fee if you can provide evidence of a valid membership of a recognised Landlord Accreditation scheme (the National Residential Landlords Association).
The fee covers applications for up to 6 bedrooms. If you need a licence for more than 6 bedrooms, we will also charge an extra hourly rate of £74 for each additional bedroom over 6.
