Renew your driver licence

To renew a driver licence, you need to contact us.

We will provide an application form, which you need to complete and return to us along with the fee of £124 for a 1-year licence or £295 for a 3-year licence and supporting documents.

To renew your driver licence, the supporting documents you need are:

• a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) enhanced check with barred lists certificate which is signed up to the DBS update service - so that we can check your status every April, October and each time we grant a licence.
• a Harlow Council group 2 medical certificate (pdf) - not more than 5 years old on the expiry date of the licence you are applying for

You will need to provide a Harlow Council group 2 medical certificate every 5 years until you are 65 years old.

Once you are 65 years old, you will need to pass a group 2 medical assessment every year.
