Ezra’s Little Library opens in Harlow Town Park

A new outdoors library has opened at the Harlow Town Park Learning Centre in memory of a local little boy.

Ezra was 21 months old when he sadly passed away last year due to complications related to Holt-Oram Syndrome, a condition that affects the upper limbs and heart.

To honour Ezra’s love of the Town Park and reading books, his family with the support of Harlow Council created a little library where people can take a book, bring a book or share a book.

Commenting on the library Ezra’s family said:

“We wanted to create something that gives back to others while keeping Ezra’s memory alive and remembered. Ezra loved books, he loved turning the pages to see what would come up next, especially peek-a-boo books. We know he would love his little library and we hope Ezra’s Little Library brings joy to the community and encourages a love of reading.”

Councillor Danielle Brown, portfolio holder for Community, said:

“Ezra’s Little Library is a wonderful addition to the Town Park that honours a special little boy and his love of books. It also promotes reading within the community, offering a welcoming space for borrowing, reading, and exchanging books.

"I encourage everyone to take advantage of this wonderful resource, whether you’re reading while enjoying a drink at Spurriers Café or relaxing in the beautiful surroundings of the Town Park.”
