Harlow’s free fireworks display returns this weekend

Published date

Harlow Council is once again counting down to the annual Bonfire and Fireworks Night, taking place this Sunday (2 November 2025) at the Showground in Harlow Town Park.

Now in its 47th year, the event continues to be a cherished tradition, bringing together thousands of residents for an evening of celebration, connection, and shared enjoyment.

The bonfire will be lit at 6.15pm, followed by a dazzling fireworks display at 6.30pm. Families, friends, and neighbours from across Harlow are invited to gather and enjoy the spectacle, with food and refreshments available throughout the evening. Toilets near Pets’ Corner will be open until 8pm.

To help everyone get to the event, free parking will be available at Water Gardens car park from 4pm to midnight, and at Altham Grove, School Lane, and Wych Elm from 6pm to 8pm. Blue Badge holders can access limited parking at the Showground car park via Gladwin Way before 5.45pm, although vehicles will need to remain until Fifth Avenue reopens. Post Office Road car park will be closed due to temporary bus station works, and additional parking is available at Harlow Town train station.

Road closures will be in place to ensure the event runs smoothly. Fifth Avenue, along with parts of Park Lane and School Lane, will be closed between 5.15pm and 8.30pm. Access to and from Sainsbury’s will remain open during this time.

As always, the welfare of the animals at Pets’ Corner is a priority. Council staff will be on hand throughout the evening to ensure they are kept calm and comfortable during the fireworks display.

Councillor Danielle Brown, Portfolio Holder for Culture and Community, said:

“Bonfire Night in Harlow is more than just fireworks, it’s about bringing people together.

"It’s a moment where the whole town comes out to celebrate, connect, and enjoy something special. We’re proud to keep this tradition going and to offer a free event that everyone can be part of.

"I’d like to thank all those who work behind the scenes to make it happen, and I look forward to seeing our community come together once again.”
