Children and families are enjoying a completely transformed Potters Field following the opening of the latest brand-new playground delivered through Harlow Council’s major programme to renew play areas across the town.

The new playground is now open, featuring more than 70 play features designed to inspire learning, encourage inclusive play and provide endless fun for children aged from 0 to 12.

Potters Field before and after the upgradePotters Field is the latest playground to be completely renewed as part of the council’s mission to Renew our Neighbourhoods, following the recent opening of the transformed playground at Glebelands.

Many more playground transformations will follow as the council continues its programme of investment in modern, safe and exciting places for children and families across Harlow.

The transformation at Potters Field is about much more than replacing play equipment. The new space has been designed to give children of different ages and abilities somewhere they can play together, learn, explore, build confidence, make friends and create lasting memories.

Councillor Nicky Purse, Cabinet Member for Environment and Enforcement, said:

“Potters Field looks absolutely fantastic. This is exactly what our programme to transform playgrounds across Harlow is all about – taking tired and outdated spaces and turning them into brilliant places that children and families can enjoy and be proud of.

“With more than 70 play features, there is something here for children of all ages and abilities to enjoy.

“But this is about much more than new equipment. Playgrounds are incredibly important places where children learn, grow, make friends and memories and, most importantly, simply get to be kids.

“Potters Field is the latest transformation, but there is much more to come. We are investing right across Harlow so that every neighbourhood benefits as we Build Harlow’s Future.”

Councillor Dan Swords, Leader of Harlow Council, said:

“What a transformation at Potters Field.

“We promised to renew our neighbourhoods and invest in the things that make a real difference to everyday life – and that is exactly what we are doing.

“From Glebelands to Potters Field and many more playgrounds to follow, we are creating a new generation of fantastic play spaces across Harlow.

“Building Harlow’s Future is not just about the huge regeneration happening in our town centre. It means investing in every corner of Harlow, renewing our neighbourhoods and giving the next generation the very best possible places to grow up.

“This is another promise being delivered and another neighbourhood being transformed.”

The playground programme forms part of Harlow Council’s wider investment in neighbourhoods across the town, alongside improvements to parks, green spaces, estates and community facilities.

Further playground transformations are planned across Harlow as the council continues Building Harlow’s Future.
