We investigate reports of advertising boards or posters which are put on public or private property without the owner’s permission.
We will remove unauthorised posters and advertisements that are placed on publicly owned land and take enforcement action against those responsible where possible.
Estate agent or letting agent signs can only be displayed on the property they relate to and there can only be one board per property.
We expect estate agents to comply with their legal obligations. If they do not, we will remove non-compliant boards and pursue legal action against the agents responsible.
To report unauthorised advertising, you will need:
- the location of the board or poster
- details of what the board or poster is displaying
- a photo of the poster
- your name, address and contact number
