Freedom of information requests

You can request information from us under the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act 2000 or Environmental Information Regulations (EIR) 2004.

Before you make an FOI or EIR request, you should check that we have not already published the information you are looking for.

We publish information for transparency, and you can also use our publication scheme to check which information we publish.

If you cannot find the information you are looking for, you can request information online.

You can also email or write to Contact Harlow (contact details below) to request information. If you do this, you will need to include:

  • your name and address for correspondence
  • a description of the information or documents you would like to access

Once you have submitted your request, we will respond within 20 working days.

We may charge a fee for postage or photocopying if the cost is more than £5.00.

For more information on how we handle requests for information, as well as our fees, you can read our access to information policy.

Some information is exempt from FOI or EIR requests, such as personal or sensitive information, or information controlled under data protection. If the information you requested is exempt, we won’t be able to release it, but we will contact you to explain why.

You can request a review of any decision you disagree with using our FOI complaints procedure

If you are still unhappy with the decision you can appeal to the Information Commissioner.

You can find out more information about FOI requests on the Information Commissioner Website
