There is one Article 4 direction in the Churchgate Street conservation area:

The direction means that you need to make a planning application before making certain changes to your house.

The developments include:

• building a porch
• removing, altering or erecting a chimney
• other alterations, including painting the house

The direction is in place from 4 March 2026 and affects all houses in the Churchgate Street conservation area.
